Alsace in pictures. The François Lotz collection on show

Exposition l'Alsace en images
Exposition l'Alsace en images
To mark its 25th anniversary, the Musée de l'Image Populaire - François Lotz is looking back at its origins. Drawing on private loans and the museum's own holdings, the exhibition pays tribute to the personal collection of one of the museum's founders, François Lotz.

Through a selection of paintings, drawings, prints - some of which have never been exhibited before - we present a collection that began in the 20th century with a passion for Alsace and its images. The tour traces the history of the collection and its relationship with the current museum, before offering a selection of artists' varied visions of Alsace and the figure of the Alsatian woman. Paintings by Lothar von Seebach, which feature prominently in the corpus, take pride of place. The François Lotz collection, a condensed history of art in Alsace, from the late 18th century to the 1980s?
